Grigory Tarasevich, a master's student at the Volga region Academy of sports and tourism, won gold and bronze at the Universiade in Naples. Grigory became the best in swimming at a distance of 100 meters on his back and the third in swimming at a distance of 50 meters on his back. Competitions in this form were held on the second day of the student Games. The winning result of Gregory - 53.51 seconds. "There was quite a tense struggle, I sailed to win, I am happy with my result. I would like to thank all the fans for the support of our team. Special and huge thanks to the guys in the stands, it charges their energy before the start," - said Tarasevich after the victory in communication with the press service of the Ministry of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan. The medal of Grigory Tarasevich was the first for Tatarstan athletes at the Universiade in Italy and the second gold for the Russian team at the tournament. Moreover, in the course of the competition in Italy, Grigory was summoned to the Russian national team for the world aquatics championship in South Korean Gwangju. Even before the Universiade Tarasevich performed time standard for the qualification the championship of Russia in their events, but lost in the fight for first and second place Eugene Rylov and Clement Kolesnikov in the backstroke. Due to the fact that Kolesnikov will not perform at a distance of 200 meters on his back, Tarasevich will take his place in this discipline.
